the dutch association for professional organizers (nbpo) describes the field of activity of the professional organizer as follows:
“The PO guides and counsels in creating order and overview in time and space. A professional organizer helps to make decisions that enable someone to think and work in a more structured way, to manage time, space and means more effectively and to better control ones life and energy.
A distinction is made in assisting:
With pressure of work and stress, unmanagable archives, if ways of collaboration stagnate, inefficient working habits, reinforcement of knowledge and skills using Outlook and e-mailing, prioritizing tasks, company moves, transition from personal workplaces to flexible ones, reintegration after long-term absence, preventing fall-out, coaching in general.
(b) Private individuals
People use a PO for coaching, guiding and counseling in the event of: – too many belongings, – lack of time and overview, – need for knowledge and skills in organizing and structuring, – difficulty in making decisions
PO’s help them among other things with: – refurnishing homes or parts of it, – household management, – tidying workplaces, -time management, – lead removals, – with radical events such as decease, divorce, illness or other unexpected events that are difficult to handle.”
